The Grim Reaper: His 1P outfit in III and 2P outfit in IV both resemble a traditional depiction of death: a hooded figure wielding a scythe.
He's one of the few people in the setting who can use magic (the ability to create portals, solid illusions and undead servants who can fight for him, as well as curses). He also has a knack for manipulating people towards his ends (in III he basically outplays the entire cast combined) and millennia of combat experience and knowledge across a broad spectrum of subjects. Genius Bruiser: Zasalamel takes the form of a towering black man with a muscular build, and he wields a huge scythe with ease.Fate Worse than Death: One of his outros in IV have him casting an unseen ritual on his off-screen opponent and telling them to suffer for all eternity.Evil Sorcerer: Definitely had this vibe in III prior to his Heel≯ace Turn.Death Seeker: His motivation for everything he does.Cursed with Awesome: He eventually grew sick of his reincarnation ability and tried to undo his "curse" in III.He ditches the hood, but gets a pimped-out magician's robe instead. Costume Porn: His primary outfit in IV.The Chessmaster: In III, he manipulates every single character in the game in his scheme.Born-Again Immortality: He acquired a secret magical art that made him reincarnate as a newborn whenever he died (whether through natural causes or being killed), with his new life inheriting all of his previous lives' memories and traits.
